Tonight there is a fiesta in my apartment compound! I sent the kids out to play with the other kids and then I went out a little later. I called Puran and she came over with the guy (Zach) from the army base. He’s from Mississippi and he will be leaving on Monday for the USA again – he’s been here 4 months. He’ll go back to the US for a couple of months and then off to Iraq or Afghanistan or somewhere. He’s a nurse – so he has been working in Tegucigalpa setting up programs for needy people, and working on the base with patients that are hard for the regular hospitals to handle.

Anyway the fiesta. It is great – great music and a bunch of people dancing and partying and a bunch of kids running around playing. Later they had a piniata and they served rice and chicken and then cut the cake.
